Civil Engineering is a professional Engineering discipline that deals
with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and
naturally built environment which includes the works such as the
construction of bridges, roads, canals, dams and buildings. It is
traditionally broken into several sub-disciplines like Environmental
Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering,
Transportation Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Materials
Engineering, Surveying and Construction Engineering.
The Department of civil engineering of AryanInstitute of Engineering
and Technology (a constituent college of BPUT) was established on 2009.
The department offers a four year course leading to the Bachelor's
Degree in civil engineering.
The department has well equipped laboratories in the areas of
Material testing, Transportation, Surveying, Geotechnical engineering,
Environmental and Hydraulic. The department undertakes consultancy works
from both private and Government departments.
The department is well known for its dedicated faculty members. The
department takes the pride of adoption of new methodology in classroom
teaching. Students of civil engineering play a vital role in nation
building as they are the real pioneers of all infrastructural
developments.
